The cost of lessons varies depending on where you go. Personal tuition is the best way to learn, and usually costs about £30.00 per hour. My hourly rate is around £24.00.

If you are a beginner, then I usually recommend 30 minute lessons to begin with @ £12.00. This would usually involve learning the basic scales and keys, along with playing a few songs as well. Once you can read music to a good standard and have progressed onto the grade 1 pieces, then 40 minutes is advisable at £16.00.

To learn classical –

Teaching grades 1-4 = £16.00 for 40 minutes

Grades 5 or over = £20.00 for 40 minutes

(30 minute sessions are sometimes advisable for beginners @ £12.00)

If you would like to do the exams, this would be through the ABRSM

Blues, boogie woogie, pop songs, movie themes, or your own material –

£16.00 for 40 minutes

Advanced players that would like a one hour session – £25.00
